We are constantly seeing an increase in spam emails and respectfully remind you to be always wary of suspicious emails.
Scammers are regularly using brands of prominent organisation such as the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) or the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) to lure users into infecting their computers without even realising this has happened.
As we all head into a busy time of the year, it’s quite easy to overlook these emails and inadvertently click on the links provided which may expose your computer to viruses, spyware, ransomware or other types of malicious software.
At Dillon Partners we are always vigilant, ensuring that all our IT systems and infrastructure are maintained to the highest security levels. As your Registered Agent we can advise that ASIC and the ATO do not send emails to you directly. All correspondence relating to these entities will come directly from us via our Client Portal. We do advise that you ensure you have antivirus and antispyware software on your computer and keep it up to date. Also be wary of emails that don’t address you by name, misspell your details, have unknown attachments or do not contain .com.au domain.
When I originally commented I appear to have clicked the -Notify me when new comments are added- checkbox and from now on every time a comment is added I recieve 4 emails with the exact same
comment. There has to be an easy method you are able to remove me
from that service? Thank you!
